Gastroscopy (Upper Endoscopy)
A gastroscopy is a procedure that allows us to examine the oesophagus, stomach, and upper part of the small intestine using a thin, flexible camera.
It helps identify causes of symptoms such as acid reflux, persistent indigestion, nausea, difficulty swallowing, or unexplained pain. Conditions like inflammation, ulcers, and infection can be
detected early. It may also be indicated for the diagnosis of anaemia.
The procedure is safe, usually well tolerated, and performed with comfort measures such as sedation when required.
Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy allows detailed examination of the large intestine (colon) to investigate symptoms such as changes in bowel habits, bleeding, abdominal pain, or unexplained weight loss.
It is also used to assess inflammatory bowel disease and screen for bowel conditions. The procedure helps in early detection and prevention of serious disease and is carried out in a controlled and
safe clinical environment.
Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
Flexible sigmoidoscopy examines the lower part of the bowel and is often used when symptoms are limited to the rectum or lower colon.
It is a shorter procedure than a colonoscopy and can help diagnose causes of rectal bleeding, inflammation, or bowel changes while minimising preparation and recovery time. A rectal enema is
usually sufficient to prepare the bowel for the procedure.
Medical & Lifestyle-Based Treatment Plans
Treatment is always personalised and based on your diagnosis, symptoms, and lifestyle.
This may include:
• Medication to control inflammation, acid, or infection
• Nutritional and dietary guidance tailored to your condition
• Support for long-term digestive health and symptom management
• Ongoing monitoring to adjust treatment as needed
Our goal is not just symptom relief, but long-term wellbeing and improved quality of life.
Blood, Stool & Breath Testing
These tests help us understand how your digestive system is functioning at a deeper level.
• Blood tests assess inflammation, nutritional deficiencies, liver function, and markers of disease.
• Stool tests help identify infections, inflammation, or digestive disorders.
• Breath tests are commonly used to diagnose conditions such as SIBO or lactose intolerance.
Together, these tests help guide accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment.
Imaging & Functional Assessments
Flexible sigmoidoscopy examines the lower part of the bowel and is often used when symptoms are limited to the rectum or lower colon.Imaging studies such as barium studies, ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, SeHCAT scan or colonic transit may be used to evaluate the structure and function of digestive organs including the liver,
pancreas, and intestines.
Functional assessments help determine how well the digestive system is working and support accurate diagnosis when symptoms are complex or ongoing.
It is a shorter procedure than a colonoscopy and can help diagnose causes of rectal bleeding, inflammation, or bowel changes while minimising preparation and recovery time. A rectal enema is
usually sufficient to prepare the bowel for the procedure.
Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy
This test examines the small bowel looking for any signs of inflammation or blood loss.
